WHY I AM

Zijie ZHANG

Post-Doc

I am a post-doctoral fellow from China. I received my Medical Doctor (MD) degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and later obtained my PhD at Renji Hospital, where I trained under the guidance of Dr. Qiang Xia. During my PhD, I developed novel biomaterials aimed at enhancing antitumor immunotherapy.

After completing my PhD, I became a liver transplant (LT) surgeon, specializing in the surgical treatment of benign and malignant liver diseases in both pediatric and adult patients. This clinical experience has deepened my understanding of liver diseases and transplantation.

Currently, I am working as a post-doctoral fellow in the FG lab, where I am investigating the role of myeloid immune cells in remodeling the liver graft microenvironment after liver transplantation. My goal is to identify new therapeutic targets for graft rejection and to develop strategies for preventing post-transplant recurrence of liver cancer.
