Leticia GONCALVES

I am an engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a Master’s degree in Drug sciences. During my master’s internships, I worked for almost a year on modeling and characterizing a Creatine Transporter deficiency model, which is a cause of autism in children, using patient-derived brain organoids and a blood-brain-barrier model. Now, as part of the organoid team, I apply this knowledge to help with iPSC culture, fibroblast reprogramming into iPSC, primary cell culture and brain organoids culture and characterization. My main project consists in generating healthy and patient-derived kidney organoids, to elaborate a relevant model that enables the study of kidney tumor microenvironment, recapitulating both a physiologic human kidney but also its immune environment in health and disease.
