WHY I AM

Hannah THEOBALD

Post-Doc

I obtained my PhD in the laboratory of Andreas Schlitzer in Germany, where I investigated the adaptation of the pulmonary innate immune system to airborne fungal polysaccharides. I characterized a subpopulation of functionally-adapted monocyte-derived macrophages and identified Apolipoprotein E as a key molecule responsible for their survival in the alveolar space by regulation of intracellular cholesterol. In May 2024, I moved to Paris to join the lab here at Gustave Roussy as a postdoctoral fellow. I will study the spatio-temporal dynamics of dendritic cells in the tumor microenvironment of pancreatic cancer.
