WHY I AM
Gerasimos ANAGNOSTOPOULOS
Post-Doc
I completed my PhD in the field of hepatic metabolism under the mentorship of Prof. Guido Kroemer in Paris. In June 2023, I joined Dr. Florent Ginhoux's team as a postdoctoral researcher to study the metabolic reprogramming of hepatic resident macrophages in liver disease.
Drawing on my expertise in immunology, metabo-oncology, molecular biology, advanced microscopy, and mouse models, I investigate the mechanisms through which dietary and metabolic signals shape macrophage fate in liver pathologies, including fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes, and hepatocellular carcinoma. My goal is to uncover novel therapeutic targets that could lead to new treatment options for these conditions.
