Aymeric SILVIN
I am an immunologist dedicated to uncovering the complex roles of innate immune cells in health and disease. My journey began with a PhD at the Curie Institute, where I explored the interplay between HIV and human dendritic cell subsets. I then expanded my expertise during a postdoctoral fellowship in Singapore, focusing on microglia and their roles in neurodegenerative diseases. At the end of 2019, I returned to France to join Gustave Roussy, where my research now centers on macrophages and neutrophils and their contributions to pathological processes.
In 2020, I was fortunate to contribute to a publication identifying neutrophils and calprotectin as key predictors of COVID-19 severity, which underscored the translational impact of immunological research.
Beyond the lab, I am driven by a passion to understand how immune cells influence diseases and to share this knowledge. I find great fulfillment in training and mentoring the next generation of scientists, helping to cultivate their curiosity and skills in the field of immunology.
