WHY I AM
Ariane Heydari Olya
Post-Doc
I am a post-doctoral researcher specialized in neuroscience. After completing my PhD focused on studying glial and immune cells during neonatal inflammation, I joined Florent Ginhoux's team to pursue studying myeloid cells, especially microglia, during brain development and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Using an interdisciplinary approach and transgenic mouse models, my current work aims at deciphering microglial states, identifying their key regulators and functions across brain development and aging. My ultimate goal is to build a bridge between neurobiology and immunology to provide essential knowledge needed to elaborate neuroprotective therapies and raise awareness about neuroscience advancements.
